Choice of costume is always a puzzler, isn't it.
Here I am trying on a Frankenstein costume, several days before Halloween.
I decided against it, as the wood backdrop would have made going door-to-door quite difficult.
I then tried out a devil costume (here I am on October 27th sliding down a massive Picasso sculpture in downtown Chicago. It's a long story, trust me.)
I really liked the devil costume, but as you can imagine it took quite a beating after several hours of playing on large chunks of metal.
Here we are on Halloween night:
I chose a combo outfit: a dog costume with a pink tutu. As you can see, Ninny's dog Bubbles is wearing the same thing (though her dog costume is permanent).
My mom and dad are dressed up like dorks. What a surprise.
But the most exciting thing that happened that night had nothing to do with my choice of outfit.
It happened the moment that I realized that the stuff in my pumpkin was sweet, delicious, heaven-sent candy:
My life will never be the same. Woof.
